Karens Kitchen… my new New Year blip… turning it into a positive!

Well its a New Year and as everyone does, I had a clear focus after the craziness of December, it would be time to look at the next few months at the café and look at the next great plan… so far my 2018 has been rather frustrating… and I have had to have the dreaded enforced rest… and been trapped in the house for an actual week now with dam sciatica and a swollen disk… (which incidentally has been worse than giving birth).

For those that no me, well, I work hard and a lot of hours… I feel like I’m letting everyone down, including my business, and not being able to do anything the house is driving me insane too… many a diy job needs doing in my house and been here and not being able to do the simplest of task (like get the blooming Christmas decs away) is adding to my frustration… so this evening I seem to have found the painkillers have finally kicked in, the exercises have helped and the laptop is working… I have been thinking a lot, and my ‘life is better with notes’ pad has all sorts of scribbles… so maybe my annoying painful enforced rest might end up being good for my little business…

I decided last year I was going to do some blogging… did well for a couple of weeks… then stuff got in the way, but after our 5 years anniversary, and the publicity this finally got us, I got to see just how many people are also in the gluten free, dairy free complicated intolerance diets… and this is definitely something I shall be focusing on too, well its or focus but realised we don’t shout about it enough…. the feedback we got, the excited little childrens faces knowing they can have cake, and grown ups too knowing the food they can have that’s normal, homemade and tastes delicious and all the customers we have had in from far and wide has inspired me to help more, and talk about it more…

I have new menu ideas, with a twist of course… its us, new ideas but as always a little stumbling blocks because we want to do it our way, with our ethos, which often delays or complicates stuff, and then there is the money to put everything into go go go…. so… watch this space, and also if you are new to the gluten free dairy free minefield then let me know what you struggle with… do you want recipes? Do you want tips and tricks and easy fixes?  Give me your ideas too, my pad isn’t full yet…
